#CPCPlannerGirl: Haute Pink Fluff

If you're looking for some good inspiration for your next desk layout, meet Vanessa of @HautePinkFluff. Tons of creativity goes into her planner layouts, but we at Cool Pencil Case drool over her amazing crafting area in her home as well. Everything is well organized and full of color! She took the time to answer our favorite #CPCPlannerGirl questions today -- see below for a couple of key planning tips and which Cool Pencil Case items are her favorites!
"With the use of emails and text messages, there isn't anything more personal and sentimental than using beautiful stationery mailed to friends and loved ones. I love stationery because it can be so personal and there are endless of stationery companies and prints to choose from. It's easy to create your own stationery and it's one of my favorite creative outlets." - Vanessa

(Included above: Giraffe Charm Wallet and Pencil Pouch Duo)

What do you love best about your favorite planner and why?
My favorite planner is a ring-bound planner because it's so easy customize and make planner accessories for yourself. I always find really cute handmade planner accessories on Etsy and a ring-bound planner makes it easy to update.

Tell us about your favorite and most used planner accessory (bookmark, gel pen, stamp, etc). My most used planner accessories are my planner tassels and page markers. I have them on just about every planner and notebook I have.

(Included above: Giraffe Charm Wallet and Pencil Pouch Duo)

What is your favorite Cool Pencil Case product and why?
The Happy Baby Mega Pencil Case is without a doubt my favorite product. They hold a lot of pens, pencils, washi tape, paperclips, and sticky notes. I love the color selection and the quality is excellent. I love it so much, I have three of them!

Can you give some tips on those who love decorating their planner pages but are on a budget?
I first started decorating my planner using printable stickers that I would find in the free files on Facebook planner groups and mostly Etsy shops. They're really inexpensive and I can print as many as I need. I also re-use any pretty prints or images I cut from magazines, turn gift bags into dashboards or journaling cards, and check out planner related blogs for free printables.

When did you start using your planner and how did it change the way you prepared for the day/week/month?I got my first planner when I was 10 years old just for fun, but I started to use a planner to keep organized when I was in middle school. I would write down all the due dates for assignments, exams, and projects ahead of time, that way I could see how much time I have for each assignment and not force myself to try to remember everything. Using a planner helps me remember things by writing it down, but also eases the stress of trying remember everything at once.

How do you organize all of your stationery and supplies?I use clear shoe boxes of different sizes that I purchased from The Container Store, but really any store has them. I'm a very visual person, so using clear containers helps me see what I already have and remember to use it. I label each one and stack them together. I always see really beautiful bins and baskets to hold stationery, but I prefer to have everything contained in a box. I also use the clear bead boxes to organize small push pins, paperclips, sticky notes that I feature a lot on my Instagram.

How do you decide how to design your planner layouts? How long does it usually take to complete your design for the week or month?
Most people may be surprised that I actually don't look on Instagram or watch "Plan With Me" videos on Youtube for inspiration or to get ideas. Aside from scrapbooking, planner decorating is a huge creative outlet for me, so I tend to stick with what I like and my personal style on a daily basis. I try to stick with using my favorite colors and prints all of the time and be my original self. Since I have a lot of planner supplies, it usually takes me about 30 minutes or longer. It's just something I enjoy doing and love spending time on.

(Included Above: Happy Baby Mega Pencil Case)

How has the planner community on instagram supported your love for stationery?I started an Etsy shop last January to sell my planner tassels and the planner community has shown such a huge support in my shop and my Instagram. I love being tagged in photos that remind them of me or one of their purchases from my shop. I also love seeing the RAKs or a "random act of kindness' when people send stationery gifts to friends to brighten someone's day.

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE: What to Buy The Planner Addict

Take it from us -- our planner obsession has been at 100 this year. With each new shipment of planners and stickers to innovative stationery, the girls at Cool Pencil Case find more reasons to stay organized and to keep our planners as eye catching as possible. At the end of the day, even our sometimes rough weekly to-do lists need a little color.

Color is something we decided to amp up during our last photoshoot. For our latest holiday gift guide, we decided to pay homage to the planner addict. Some might want to layer on some creativity within the beautiful pages of our Sentimental Circus or Rilakkuma Planners, while some want a blank slate to make each weekly layout their own. Whatever your canvas, don't forget the last couple of essentials to make the planner aficionado on your gift lift smile from ear to ear during the holidays.

Washi Tape
Even our #CPCPlannerGirls have said it, washi tape is super essential when creating any monthly or weekly layout. Highlight days, create borders and bring some fun designs on plain pages!

Planner Tabs
If you've noticed the planner addict on your holiday gift list with a book style planner, more than likely he or she will not have dividers to separate sections. Make sure to grab some planner tabs to bookmark sections or important pages. At CoolPencilCase.com, we have a variety of animal planner tabs and other stationery tape to get creative with!

Colorful Stickers
Just like washi tape, colorful stickers can highlight the illustrations in a character-themed planner and bring blank pages to life. Get more bang for your buck by checking out our sticker collections that feature multiple sheets. Stickers make awesome stocking stuffers for kids and adults as well.

Highlighters
Go freehand! Highlighters and craft pens encourage creativity even with simple doodles and notes. Lighten up with our Pastel Dual Color Highlighter set and go for gold twice with the Beetle Tip Dual Color Highlighter Set.

French Pastry Erasers

Fun Erasers
Make sure the planner addict on your list has a couple of fun items, such as food and animal erasers, or even an innovative retractable eraser!

Mini Notepads
If there's anything a planner love would appreciate, it would be a couple of tools to keep him or her organized beyond her scheduler. Mini notepads are great on-the-go essentials to jot down ideas or important info that can easily be kept within the pages of a planner later.

 Book Buddies Bookmark Clips

Paper Clips
People within the planner community use paper clips in different ways -- whether it's to keep papers together or to bookmark pages, they're better in color and in fun shapes.

#CPCPlannerGirl: @filoeyecandi

One of our favorite feeds on instagram is by the one and only, @filoeyecandi. Candi has been on our radar since the Cool Pencil Case instagram started a couple years back. We love how much time and creativity she takes into creating her weekly planner layouts. Candi definitely has captured our hearts via the planner community, but that doesn't mean she isn't a fan of our cool pencil cases! From our butterfly pencil cases to our plush pencil pouches, she has quite the collection. Check out our latest interview with this week's #CPCPlannerGirl, Candi of @filoeyecandi!

1.    Describe your love of stationery to us.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved Hello Kitty!  It all began with their cute pens, pencils, stickers and stationery!

2.    What do you love best about your favorite planner and why?
I have owned several planners in the past few years and right now I would have to say the Carpe Diem Planner from Simple Stories.  It is an a5 size planner and there is just so much room to plan, journal, add embellishments and even a few small photos here + there!  There are several colors to choose from and the outside is so soft!

3.    Tell us about your favorite and most used planner accessory (bookmark, gel pen, stamp, etc).
Hands down that would be washi tape!!!  You can do so much with it inside your planner!!!  You can write on it AND use it to decorate your planner inserts.

4.    What is your favorite Cool Pencil Case product and why?
Tiny Block DIY Pencil Pouch
LOVE how you can change the outside...it's like a new pencil case each time!  FUN :)

5.    Can you give some tips on those who love decorating their planner pages but are on a budget?
If you have a local "dollar store", you can always find some post it notes, pens/pencils and washi tape!  You can spend $10-$15 and have a great start!

6.    When did you start using your planner and how did it change the way you prepared for the day/week/month?
About 4 years ago I started using a paper planner!  I was creating and selling cake pops (no longer making cake pops) so I needed to write down all of my orders and plan out my baking + creating days!  A little over 2 years ago I got into decorating my planner pages!  I have been into paper crafts for several years so I have so much to play with.  I usually sit down every Sunday and plan out my week ahead with goodies from my stash!  It just makes me happy when I open up my planner and tackle my to-do's!

7.    How do you organize all of your stationery and supplies?
I love to shop at my local vintage shops for storage units...usually little wooden boxes or metal drawers.

(Included Above: Playful Ears Ballpoint Pen Duo, Rilakkuma Costume Multifunction Pen, Converse Shoes Sticky Notepads, Arrow Paper Clips)

8.    How do you decide how to design your planner layouts? How long does it usually take to complete your design for the week or month?
I usually start with grabbing a washi tape first...then pull supplies that will match :) Usually about 10-15 minutes...it all depends if I throw in some stamping or not!

9.    How has the planner community on instagram supported your love for stationery?
I am amazed by the love and support that the planner community has given me.  Everyone is so sweet and very thoughtful!  We all support each other and they are just the best!!!  Several times throughout the day I will sit down and go through my IG feed...so much inspiration!!!

10.    Name us three of your favorite planner girls/guys that our Cool Pencil Case fans should follow!
I wish I could tell you to just go to my "following" list and follow all of those people because I love them all, BUT if I had to pick just three it would be

I love those girls!!!

#CPCPlannerGirl Profile: Pearl the Planner

Chances are, you have come across Judy -- better known as Pearl the Planner on Instagram and YouTube. We initially were drawn to her fun washi tape posts and inspirational planner layouts. This month, she reviewed a couple of Cool Pencil Case products, including the Giraffe Charm Wallet and Pencil Pouch Duo and the Arrow Planner Tabs. Check out her Instagram reviews below, and make sure to give her a follow!

Like what you see? Click on the links below the photos to shop Pearl the Planner's favorite Cool Pencil Case stationery!

I know I've been MIA a lot recently but I am trying to get back into the swing of things despite it all. One huge thing is that my photos are all orange-tinted now. Why!? Frustrating! Anyway - I'm working with some really awesome companies. Like how did I get so lucky? I carry all my pens in the front pocket of my backpack. It's all a jumbled mess! I've bought little pencil bags before but I always hated sifting through them, and the Kipling bags I've seen are just too big for what I need. Cue this CUTE pencil case from @coolpencilcase !!! Tons of room and pockets for my pens, but I don't have to dive in for the pen I want. I LOVE it. This is just one side; there are two zippers for more room and organization of my stationery supplies! This is their giraffe pencil case ... there's a cute, small little giraffe on the front of it. I asked for the one in Navy/Hot Pink but they've got other color schemes if you're interested! They also sent me my very first frixion pens! I would be lying if I said my eyes didn't go like this πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€! What pencil case do you use for your pens?

We've met quite a few amazing individuals through Instagram who share the same love for washi tape, planners, bookmark tabs, and a good FriXion pen! Today, we're introducing Val of @livebeautifullyandlove. We just wrapped up a giveaway with her yesterday, giving one lucky follower a $20 gift code to CoolPencilCase.com. That's all the more reason you should be following @coolpencilcase to keep up to date with new promotions and giveaways!

Read more on how Val stumbled upon the planner community and how it's helped her to keep more organized!

1. Describe your love of stationery to us.

Pretty paper just makes me happy! I love a crisp, clean new sheet, and the potential to create something beautiful on it!

2. What do you love best about your favorite Filofax/planner and why?

I used to have a spiral-bound planner. In the spring, I purchased my first ring-bound planner binder, and I'll never look back! My favorite thing about my ring bound planners is the fact that the rings make them so customizable! I change my mind a lot about what I want in my planner, so that feature is like gold to me!

3. Tell us about your favorite and most used Filofax/planner accessory?

Hands-down, my favorite and most used planner accessories are my tassels from Vanessa of Hautepinkfluff on Etsy (and Instagram)! They're so cute and fun, and the fact that they come in a variety of sizes and colors means that there's something for everyone, and every planner!

4. When did you start using your Filofax/planner and how did it change the
way you prepared for the day/week/month?

I've pretty much always use the planner. My school gave us one at the beginning of each year, and when I started working I just bought a small, very simple planner just to keep my work schedule straight. I really only started getting serious and having fun with my planner at the beginning of 2015. I discovered this whole planner community, and I love it! I'm much more organized now. I have everything in my planner--my schedule, meal planning, house cleaning routine, workout routine, to-do list, budget... the list goes on! It keeps me on task (except when I decide to make a new dashboard instead of going for a run), and has become one of my favorite hobbies!

5. How do you organize all of your stationery and supplies?

I posted a video of my supplies organization on my YouTube channel (Val Nach) a couple of months ago. Basically, I just use a raskog cart from IKEA to hold my stickers, small boxes of miscellaneous pieces, paper trimmer, washi tape (that I display in apothecary jars), etc. I also have several decorative stackable boxes that house my scrapbook paper pads, laminator, and other odds and ends.

An Interview with @PaperPanduh

Meet Maricris of @paperpanduh. We recently discovered her on Instagram and fell in love with her fun stationery layouts! Take a peek below at some shots of her favorite Cool Pencil Case items and how her love of stationery came to be. Are you using your planner for the same reason she is? Let us know in the comments below!

A photo posted by Maricris Emma (@paperpanduh) on

Describe your love of stationery to us.I've loved stickers and stationery since the Sanrio craze days! I've always been very old school.  I've been snail mailing since middle school but just recently got back into it after seeing how many people are also into it on Instagram! Instagram has definitely inspired me to create again! I love everything that has to do with paper!

What do you love best about your favorite Filofax/planner and why?I only have one Erin Condren planner and I love how the cover is personalized! They recently made them into removable covers so you can choose and make them your own!

Tell us about your favorite and most used Filofax/planner accessory? My two current favorite planner accessories are my fine point black Coleto pen and my Kawaii diary stickers!

When did you start using your Filofax/planner and how did it change the
way you prepared for the day/week/month?

I've used a paper planner since I was in middle school... and I've used it throughout college :) I feel more accomplished physically crossing off my To Do lists! Even though I have a smart phone, I could never get myself to use it as my planner! Since I'm not a student anymore, its more for appointments and daily tasks now.

How do you organize all of your stationery and supplies?
I use a Raskog cart from IKEA :) Google it, its pretty nifty!

Filofax Spotlight: Interview with FiloEyeCandi

Shining the spotlight on one of our awesome Filofax friends, we chatted with Candi, of FiloEyeCandi, and asked her a few questions about her own Filofax and more! Check out the interview below and see what she had to say on what sparked her interest for stationery, her favorite places to shop for Filofax accessories, and how her love for vintage has helped her organize!

"Converse Sticky Note peeking out for Week 8!" - FiloEyeCandi

1. Describe your love of stationery to us.
I guess the start of my love for stationery began for me back in 1992 when I was introduced to rubber stamps.  I started to take a few classes and began to create my own greeting cards.  To this day I am still collecting rubber stamps!  I just started pen-palling and use a lot of stationery.  I have even found some stationery to use in my Filofax (planner).

2. What do you love best about your favorite Filofax and why?
I love the fact that you can add basically anything into your Filofax.  I love to add Project Life Cards, Invitations and Pictures into my Filofax by using a single hole punch.  Whenever I receive an invitation in the mail I punch holes in it and add it to the week of the party!

3. Tell us about your favorite and most used Filofax accessory (bookmark, gel pen, stamp, etc).
Washi Tape!!!  I use it every week in my planner.

4. Where are some of your favorite places to shop for Filofax accessories, school supplies, and crafts?
Etsy, Cool Pencil Case, Michael's, Joann Fabrics & Crafts, Hobby lobby, Pens & Leather, kikki-K, MochiThings, Amazon.

5. Can you give some tips on those who love decorating their Filofax pages but are on a budget?
I recommend a couple rolls of washi tape, some post it note flags and a few colored pens...you are good to go to start decorating your weekly pages.  There are always great sales at your local craft stores.  I also recommend stopping at your local "dollar" store too.

6. When did you start using your Filofax and how did it change the way you prepared for the day/week/month?
I was introduced to Filofax in August of last year.  I look forward so much to the weekend to decorate the upcoming week and jotting down all my daily tasks that need to be done for that week.  While I am at work I have my Filofax open so I can see the things that need to be done for that day/night and when I am home in the evening I usually sit down for about 10 minutes to go over the day and see if I need to add anything to me week.
