DIY Washi Tape Greeting Cards

 See our DIY tutorial below!

Send greeting cards this holiday season without worrying too much about the cost yet still adding that personal touch! How would one do so, you ask? Well, see the easy tutorial below on how to make DIY Washi Tape Greeting Cards using our Festive Pattern 2-Pack Washi Tape Set (& in case you may want to try other designs and patterns, see our selection of washi tape here).

Step 1 - Fold a sheet of colored construction paper (8 1/2 x 11 inches) to create the card. We prefer the more sturdy construction paper for this DIY project. Cut small strips of your desired washi tape and stack 2 side-by-side to create the box shape of the presents.

 Step 1 - Start with a base...

Step 2 - Cut a thin strip of washi tape and place it along the middle of the boxes to replicate the ribbon of the presents. We advise using a different, patterned washi tape for the ribbon just because it easily stands out!

Step 2 - Add the ribbon...

Step 3 - For the bows, cut thin, short strips of washi tape and fold the end to touch the base. This creates a pop-up effect and quickly elevates the look of this simple card!

Step 3 - Top it off with a bow...

Step 4 - Add the ribbon and bows to the rest of the presents to complete the look. If you prefer simplicity, then you're good to go! However, feel free to add washi tape among the edges for a border or even strips for a striped effect on the back.

Step 4 - Complete the entire look!

& There you have it... your DIY greeting card is ready to be written in and sent off to your loved one.

Cool Pencil Case Web Favorites: Paper Kawaii

PaperKawaii.com has been one of our recent favorites. The blog plays host to some of the cutest (and most intricate) origami projects Cool Pencil Case has seen in a while. As you know, we're all about creativity and creating special keepsakes by hand. Whether it's by creating amazing handmade cards, or in this case, origami paper craft, there's something about that extra effort into a simple gift from the heart that makes everyone smile.

Chrissy from Paper Kawaii used some of our Kawaii stickers to decorate some of her most recent projects. Our Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma Costume Change Stickers were great Springtime embellishments that really added a pop of color to her origami projects.

Against a solid color, the stickers made adorable decorations. This is a snapshot of her project done a month ago of an Origami Hexagonal Box.

To add to the Spring fun, a tutorial for a Spring Basket was featured a couple days ago. The Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma Costume change stickers include great Spring designs for your origami projects all season long. Check out the tutorial below!

PaperKawaii.com is definitely a website worth visiting! If you're in love with the outcome, but not too fond of hand/eye coordination, visit her Etsy store to see all the great things she's made now on sale for 50% off!
